We pulled the five most-traded questions on the best prediction markets that actually settle within this week, researched them properly, and then made a prediction while including all our sources.
Each prediction gets a Geek Score from 0 to 100 depending on our level of certainty. Here’s the board for this week.
MLB: 2026 AL West Champion
Polymarket · Resolves Sunday, Sep 27, when the regular season ends
Our pick: Texas Rangers
Price at Tuesday, Sep 22, morning ET: Yes 29c – No 75c
Our call: YES, Geek Score 70
This price looks like it was set last Friday. The market’s own summary still describes Houston leading the division at 77-76, which was true on September 18. Since then the Astros were swept at home by Atlanta and Texas moved into first place. A 27% Rangers price belongs to that older standings table, not this one.
Here is where things stand now. Texas is 78-78 and Houston is 77-79 with six games left each, according to MLB.com. Houston went 9-4 against Texas this year, so the Astros win any tie, per Bleacher Report. That means Texas has to finish at least one game better, which is exactly the margin it holds today.
Form points the same way. Houston has lost three straight and seven of its last ten, and has been outscored by 59 runs on the season against Texas’s minus-34, Yahoo Sports reports. Texas went 10-8 in September to Houston’s 7-11. The Rangers host the Mets (71-85) for three, then visit the Twins (73-84). We simulated the last six games for both clubs and Texas finished strictly ahead about 62% of the time. That’s our honest number. The format doesn’t allow a 62, so the score rounds up to 70, but the gap to a 29c price is large either way.
The risk: Houston’s schedule is softer than it looks from the standings. All six games are on the road, but four of them come against the 61-95 Athletics, and the Astros only need to match Texas, not beat it. If Houston goes 5-1, Texas needs 6-0. The order book is also thin, with about $172,000 traded in total, so check whether the price has already caught up before trading.
MLB: 2026 AL Central Champion
Polymarket · Resolves Sunday, Sep 27, when the regular season ends
Our pick: Cleveland Guardians
Price at Tuesday, Sep 22, morning ET: Yes 53c – No 47c (No side implied from the Yes print)
Our call: NO, Geek Score 35
Cleveland sits one game up on Chicago, 81-75 to 80-76, and the market treats that as a slight edge. We think the lead is smaller than it looks, because Chicago holds the tiebreaker. The White Sox own tiebreakers over Cleveland, Texas and Toronto, according to Bleacher Report, after winning the season series (BettorsInsider noted that Chicago had owned it going into mid-September). So a tie goes to Chicago, and Cleveland needs to finish ahead outright.
The schedules decide the rest. Cleveland plays three at Boston, a playoff team, then three at Kansas City. Chicago plays three at Kansas City, then three at home against Colorado, the worst team in the National League at 57-99. In our six-game simulation, Cleveland finished strictly ahead 48% of the time. Sportsbooks have Cleveland at -124, roughly 55%, so we’re below the whole market, not just Polymarket.
This is the thinnest conviction on the board. Our honest estimate sits in the high 40s, and the Geek Score of 35 overstates it because the format forbids the middle. During the same session, the White Sox leg of this event printed at 59c, which adds up to more than 100% with Cleveland’s 53c. The book is thin and moving.
The risk: Boston has already clinched a playoff spot and could play for pride rather than seeding, which would soften Cleveland’s hardest series. One Guardians sweep at Fenway flips this call.
Patriots vs. Jaguars
Polymarket · Resolves Sunday, Sep 27, 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff
Our pick: Jaguars
Price at Tuesday, Sep 22, morning ET: Jaguars 61c – Patriots 40c
Our call: YES, Geek Score 70
Jacksonville is a three-point home favorite at -155 on the moneyline, and ESPN’s FPI makes it 58% to win outright, per ESPN. Polymarket’s 61c sits right on top of that.
The case for the Jaguars is about who’s missing on the other side. New England lost A.J. Brown to an ankle injury in the opener and then starting guard Mike Onwenu in Week 2, CBS Sports reports. ClutchPoints reports the Onwenu injury is a broken ankle, which leaves an interior line facing Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker. Jacksonville was 7-2 against the spread at home last season and beat Cleveland 34-10 in its home opener.
We have to be plain about this one. Our real number is around 62%, and the Geek Score of 70 is only 9 points above the market. That’s the smallest edge of the week, below our usual 10-point floor, and it’s on the board because the operator chose to fill five slots this week.
The risk: New England’s defense held Pittsburgh to 3 points last week, and Jacksonville has given up 191 rushing yards in two games. TreVeyon Henderson ran for 76 yards on his return. If the Patriots can run it, the Jaguars’ blown 13-3 lead in Denver becomes the template, not the exception.
Panthers vs. Browns
Polymarket · Resolves Sunday, Sep 27, 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff
Our pick: Panthers
Price at Tuesday, Sep 22, morning ET: Panthers 59c – Browns 42c
Our call: YES, Geek Score 70
The market is five points below the models here. ESPN’s FPI has Carolina by 3.9 points with a 64% chance to win, and the sportsbook moneyline is -155, per ESPN. Polymarket has the Panthers at 59c.
Cleveland is coming off an upset of Tampa Bay, as VSiN noted, and one good week tends to pull prediction-market money toward the underdog. The Week 1 result was the other extreme: a 34-10 loss in Jacksonville. Averaged out, we read the Browns as closer to the Week 1 team, playing on the road.
The risk: We have less on this game than on anything else this week, and a single NFL game is the worst fit for a confident score. The total has climbed from 39.5 to 42.5, so the market expects more offense than it did on Sunday, and more scoring usually helps the underdog. Carolina is 1-1 and hasn’t shown a ceiling yet.
Saudi Oil Pipeline (East-West) restarts by…?
Polymarket · Resolves Wednesday, Sep 30 (three days after this week’s window)
Our pick: September 30
Price at Tuesday, Sep 22, morning ET: Yes 29c – No 72c
Our call: NO, Geek Score 18
The East-West line is Saudi Arabia’s way around the Strait of Hormuz, and it is shut. Straits.live lists the Petroline bypass as closed and shows IMF PortWatch counting 8 transits through Hormuz on September 13, about 9% of normal traffic, with Brent near $100.
Nothing in the news suggests a restart in the next eight days. Hormuz crossings fell to 14 over the weekend from 36 the weekend before, and Iran’s parliament speaker said the strait stays closed until Tehran’s conditions are met, The National reports. Bab al-Mandeb traffic is falling too. The same Polymarket event prices a restart by October 31 at 77%, so the crowd expects the line back eventually. We just don’t see a public date that puts it inside September, and we couldn’t find one from Aramco or Riyadh.
The risk: A pipeline restart is an operating decision that can come without warning, and a 29c price on an eight-day window suggests some traders expect exactly that. Read the market’s rules on what counts as a restart before trading, because a partial restart could settle Yes.

We’re furthest from the crowd on Texas, 41 points apart, and that gap comes mostly from a price that hasn’t caught up with last weekend’s standings.
